Our Mission

The mission of the North Babylon School District’s Library Media Program is to ensure that the students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. The program provides instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using ideas and information. The School Library Media Specialists collaborate with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students as well as entire classes. The district’s Library Media Center provides facilities that function as the information hub of each school. The School Library Media Specialists work at developing full integration of the Library Media Program and New York State Standards into the curriculum. The Library Media Program is dedicated to helping each student become an independent, self-motivated, life-long learner.
