Happy BINGOWEEN!
A fun evening of Bingo, costumes and raffle
prizes was had by all. Special thanks to our MGV PTA for their wonderful
efforts to make this such a great event.
Student Council Elections
  
The MGV Student Council Elections were held
this week. Students running for office made speeches to the student body
Grades 3-5 in the PCS Auditorium. The students did an excellent job as did
this year's co-advisors Mr. Barrett and Mr. Lotter. We are so proud of each
student and their desire to make MGV the best it can be. The election results
were announced and the new officers took the "Oath of Office" Their
inauguration was covered by Newsay. Keep an eye out for our story.

Hispanic Heritage Month at MGV
Ms. Martin's Class 2B "learned" their way
through numerous countries in Central and South America completing Passports
with new information about each country. They also were quick to learn about
the various Hispanic cultures and traditions as well increase their Spanish
vocabulary! Bueno!

Islanders Hockey at MGV!
The NY Islanders have selected MGV as the first school on LI
to receive a full set of floor hockey equipment.
Mr. Mango requested that our school be selected as a
participant in the Islanders new I.S.L.E program which is working to encourage
students at the elementary level to participate in the sport of floor hockey.
We were surprised to find that MGV was honored
as the 1st school to be selected!
Today the students in Grade 5 got to participate in a floor
hockey game using the new equipment and as an extra special treat each of our
5th Graders will be receiving a
voucher to attend an Islander Game!
