Mrs. Nocella: This message is for all 6th grade homerooms.  The Yoplait Pink Lid contest is still on!!!  Collect the pink lids off of Yoplait yogurt containers.  Rinse them at home & then give them to your homeroom representative.  For each lid you donate, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Breast Cancer research.  The homeroom with the most lids will win a cool prize!  The contest ends on Friday, November 6th. And…would last year’s 6th grade officers & advisory board members please stop by Mrs. Nocell’s room sometime during the day.

Ms. Offerman-Celentano:  A.M. & P.M. Attention all faculty & staff:  Come out this afternoon & save 3 lives.  Come to Marion G. Vedder Elementary anytime between 3:00 & 8:30 & donate blood.  The 4th graders at MGV will be there to assist you in their scrubs as little doctors.  Your donation can save 3 lives.

Ms. Gusmerotti:  A.M. Congratulations to the girls & boys Cross Country Team in their meet against Lindenhurst.  Among those running well for Robert Moses were:  Elijah Sampson, Anthony Covelli, Xavier Aristide, Jenna Trentalange, Rachel Rex, Sofia Fightmaster, & Sabrina Kachurka.  Great job team.

Mr. McHugh:  A.M. & P.M. Please remember that only students who are “WALKERS” may walk off the school property at the 2:35pm dismissal.  Any student who attempts to walk home when they should be on a bus will receive supervision. 

Ms. Janelis & Ms. Gusmerotti:  A.M. & P.M. Attention all 7th & 8th grade girls interested in playing Volleyball:  Physicals will be given on Friday, November 6th, during your physical education classes, & again on Monday, November 9th.  Without a physical you cannot try out for the team on November 16th.  There will be no exceptions.

Coach Jones:  A.M.  The Field Hockey Team played West Babylon to a 0 – 0 tie yesterday.  Carly Heinlein, Christie Conk, Lily LaFleur, Kaitlyn Recine, & Casey Wheeler played well.  Goalie Kristina LaPuma recorded 5 saves.  Great job girls!  

Mrs. Lafferty: To the 6th grade Computer Club:  Sixth grade Computer Club will meet today, period 9, in room 119.  All members please attend.  Club photos will be taken for the yearbook.

Music Department: Congratulations to all Marching Band, Color Guard & Kick Line members on last nights trip to Hofstra University Newsday Marching Band Festival.  You all did a great job showing your support for the High School Marching Band.  Special thanks to all of our chaperones:  Mrs. Sylvester, Mrs. Buehler, Mrs. McRae, Mrs. Whitman & Mrs. Lee.  We really appreciate all of your help.

Coach Romanello:  P.M. Congratulations to the North Babylon eleven year old Cheerleading Team for taking first place at their competition on Sunday.  Kianna Franklin, Karleigh Wykert, Sydney Rotunno, Laura Losco, Jillian Bavuso, & Rachel Johns led the team to victory.  The team’s record is now 2 – 0.  Keep up the good work!

Coach Murray:  A.M. The 7th grade Girl’s Soccer team beat Bay Shore yesterday.  The girls now have a record of 3 wins, 2 losses, & 1 tie.  They are playing great together as a team this year.  Keep up the good work.

Mrs. DePietto & the SADD Club:  A.M. & P.M. This week is Red Ribbon Week.  Please join us here at Robert Moses Middle School & commit to a healthy & drug free lifestyle.  The original Red Ribbon Week campaign was created in honor of the US Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camerena, who was kidnapped & killed after uncovering a multibillion dollar drug ring in Mexico.  Red Ribbon Week celebrated the memory of this special man who gave his life in the fight to keep Americans safe from drugs.  Let’s support his efforts by displaying the stickers, wearing red on Wednesday, & wearing the bracelets you will receive in homeroom this week.  Say no to drugs, alcohol & tobacco & help empower our community to make healthy decisions when faced with difficult choices!

North Babylon Youth Center:  A.M. The North Babylon Youth Center is having basketball clinics for all Middle School Girls in 6th through 8th grades on Mondays starting tonight at 6:00pm.  Registration cost is just $10.00 for 8 clinics.  If you are interested, stop by the Youth Center to register or contact the Youth Center at 422-0333.
