November 11, 2009 the Robert Moses Middle School Marching Band, Color Guard
and Kickline had the honor of performing in the Babylon Village Veteran's Day
Parade. The group did a wonderful job on their first performance of the year
and proudly represented the spirit of North Babylon. The band is currently
preparing for their next performance at the Town of Babylon Christmas Tree
Lighting Ceremony held on December 4, 2009 at Town Hall beginning at 5:00 PM.

Robert Moses Middle School Marching Band
The students in Robert Moses Middle School Marching Band have performed in many events for the past thirteen years and have found this to be an important part of the school community. The band has been fortunate enough to have performed in numerous parades throughout Long Island including; the Veterans Day Parade in Babylon and the Town of Babylon Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade in Lindenhurst. This group has also performed at the North Babylon PTA Founders Day Ceremony, the Memorial Day Parade in North Babylon, The Spangle Drive Senior Center, Giants Stadium for a Metro Stars game, Shea Stadium for the opening of a Mets game, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Garden City, NY where they were proud to have received 2nd place in 2007, as well as, the Chairman’s Trophy, which is the highest honor given in this parade in both 2006 and 2008. They have also marched in New York City’s very distinguished St. Patrick’s Day Parade in which they have placed first in 1999, third in 2000, and 2nd place in 2005. The marching band was also featured on 106.1 WBLI in 2005 and on Channel 12 NEWS in 2008 as they prepared for NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade televised on NBC. Each 7th & 8th grade band member of Robert Moses Middle School has an opportunity to participate in the Marching Band program. Rehearsals are usually during the scheduled band rehearsal time with additional rehearsals added throughout the year. |
