Mrs. K. Calvert: Homeroom 150 Click Here for Mrs. Calvert's Curriculum Overview We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year. We certainly have gotten off to a good start! EXPECTATIONS: Students are expected to arrive to class on time and to be prepared. This includes all books, homework, and agenda. Students are encouraged to be active learners and participate in the day’s lesson.
GRADES:
Quarterly grades are based on a variety of assessments including quizzes, tests,
projects, as well as written class work. Tests count 2X. Homework is also
counted in the quarterly grade. All students begin with a 100% homework
average. Ten points will be deducted from this average for each missing
assignment. · Quiz needs to be signed by parent or guardian · Corrections are done on separate sheet of paper. · Both the question and the complete answer must be written out. · Original quiz must be attached to correction sheet. · Quiz corrections must be handed in the very next day NO EXCEPTIONS!! EXTRA HELP: Extra help is encouraged! It is offered on Wednesdays. Students will be “invited” whenever necessary! AGENDA BOOK:All students at RMMS are provided with an agenda book. In addition to sections for writing assignments in every subject, the agenda book contains sections for parent teacher communication, and useful information about our school. Teachers also use it as a pass enabling students to move about the building. After a quiz or test, students are asked to record their grades in the agenda book for your review. Parents are encouraged to check the agenda book and sign when necessary. FRIDAY LETTERS: Friday Letters are designed to keep parents up to date with assignments that have been completed or missed as well as student’s behavior for the week. Some will have tests, quizzes and work attached. Friday Letters need to be signed and returned to me by Monday. If they are not signed and returned detention will be assigned and points will be taken off homework average as this counts as a homework assignment. |
