FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT FERPA
The North Babylon Union Free School District maintains directory information regarding its students, which includes names, addresses and home telephone numbers. In addition, during the course of the school year, photographs and video footage of the students participating in school activities may be taken for use in district publications, as well as in local and regional print, radio and TV. At times, students may also be identified by name, when appropriate to the use of the photograph or video footage. Parental / Guardian permission is assumed unless the North Babylon Union Free School District is contacted in writing. Parents /Guardians have a right to request that their children not be included in the directory or be photographed for publications, etc. If parents / guardians wish to make such a request, a letter is to be sent to the school principal. If there are any questions, parents / guardians are requested to contact the school principal.
