TRANSPORTATION DEADLINE
North Babylon School District residents who are considering enrolling their children in private or parochial schools for the 2008 - 2009 school year are reminded that they are required, by state mandate, to file a request for transportation prior to April 1, 2008, unless the family moves into the district after April 1st. In this case, the request must be made within 30 days of establishing residency. This deadline will be strictly construed; a late request may result in the denial of transportation. Applications may be obtained from the Office of Transportation on Phelps Lane or you may call 321-3246.
PLEASE NOTE: Those parents requesting transportation to a private or parochial school for Kindergarten-age children or those requesting such transportation for the first time MUST come to Room 105 (Registrar's Office) at the North Babylon High School and provide the satisfactory proof of residency before transportation will be approved. In order to be eligible for transportation to a private or parochial school for a Kindergarten student, your child must be age five, on or before December 1, 2008.
Three (3) forms of proof of residency in North Babylon are required for everyone requesting transportation to a private or parochial school. One proof should be a 2006-2007 or 2007-08 Town of Babylon Property Tax Bill. Renters should also have a notarized landlord's affidavit form and parental affidavit form. Copies of these forms may be obtained in Room 105 (Registrar's Office) at the North Babylon High School.
