Bulldog Bulletin - November 2023 Edition

From the desk of Dr. Graham.....

Its hard to believe that we are already at the start of December. The school year seems to be moving so quickly. December is a very busy time of year in schools filled with a great deal of excitement and special events.

Our students and staff are continuing to focus on coursework and curriculum at all levels, our student musicians are preparing for their upcoming winter performances, our student athletes are underway with the winter season, and our students and staff are engaged in a multitude of community service and outreach activities to help with this Holiday season.

We invite you to view the 2023 Fall Newsletter highlighting several programs in the district. This newsletter was distributed electronically, and is being mailed out to all of our residents as well.

Thank you for your ongoing support and I look forward to seeing you around the district at some of our many events.

As a reminder, please take some time explore the many happenings throughout the District. In addition to our website, follow us on our social media feeds and download the district app (Android or iOS).

NB "All In" Spotlight

Throughout the 2023-2024 school year we will be highlighting a number of students who go above and beyond for the school and greater community, students who are "All In." This month, Naima Frederique is being recognized this month for being “All In” for the Robert Moses school community.

Naima is a High Honor Roll student who was recently selected to attend the YMCA Youth in Government Conference in Albany, NY.  She submitted an essay, and based on her academic accomplishments, was among seven North Babylon students selected to represent our district at the Conference.

Naima is a student who makes the most of every opportunity and is the definition of “All In”. She has participated in the Robert Moses Kickline for three years and is currently serving as captain. She participates in the Jazz Band, and has been a member of our Student Council for two years.  Naima plays soccer and basketball, is a member of the Mindfulness Club, Environmental Club and the Robert Moses National Junior Society,

This year, she conducted the 8th Grade band for our 9/11 Memorial.  She wrote a speech explaining Veterans Day and presented it to the student body. Representing Robert Moses on our first annual Unity Day, she was interviewed and appeared on WCBS Channel 2 evening news.

Naima has volunteered to help with back to school drives with the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. Naima also dances with the Venettes Cultural Workshop, and auditioned and performed with a select company of dancers for the Long Island Nets.

Naima makes Robert Moses Middle School a better place to be, and is an outstanding example of being “All In”. Congratulations Naima!
