Woods Road First Grader Becomes Published Author

A first grade student at Woods Road Elementary School is already adding “published author” to her list of accomplishments. Six-year-old Laila Myrie recently released her first book, “Agent Laila and the Family Secret Mission,” which is now available on Amazon.

Laila, who says she loves reading and writing, was inspired to create the story after watching the movie “Spy Kids.” With support from her parents, she developed a creative adventure centered around a family of superheroes working together on a secret mission.
The young author proudly shared her accomplishment with her school community, even presenting autographing a copy of the book for her principal. 

Despite already achieving this exciting milestone, Laila is not slowing down — she is already planning her next story. Laila’s creativity, imagination and enthusiasm for literacy serve as an inspiration to her classmates and demonstrate that great ideas can come from readers and writers of any age.
