Belmont Elementary School in the North Babylon Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic Permanent Substitute Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a full-time position where the successful candidate will report daily to the building and provide instructional support as needed across various subject areas and elementary grade levels.

Responsibilities Include:

Providing coverage for classroom teachers during absences.
Implementing lesson plans left by teachers or delivering prepared instructional materials.
Maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.
Assisting with supervision duties throughout the school day (hallways, cafeteria, arrival/dismissal, etc.).

Qualifications:

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
Maintain accurate and confidential health records.
Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, allergies, and seizure disorders.
Collaborate with families, physicians, counselors, teachers, and administrators to support student health needs.
Ensure compliance with New York State immunization requirements and health regulations.
Participate in health screenings, emergency preparedness planning, and school safety initiatives.
Promote wellness and health education throughout the school community.

Qualifications

Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License required.
