At the Oct. 17 Board of Education meeting, administrators and Board members honored students who were recently recognized as AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honor and AP Scholars with Distinction.
Thirty-four seniors and Class of 2024 graduates were named AP Scholars. The AP Scholar award is given to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams. Six students were named AP Scholars with Honor, an award given to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Thirteen North Babylon students were named AP Scholars with Distinction, an honor given to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
The Board of Education and administration also recognized two teachers who were recently granted tenure. Congratulations to Marion G. Vedder Elementary School teacher Lara Thomas and North Babylon High School teacher Simar Singh.
