Cross of Christ UPK Lottery

Dear North Babylon Parents/Guardians:

Cross of Christ Lutheran Preschool is extremely pleased to inform you that we are again partnering with the North Babylon School District and hosting a Universal Preschool (UPK) program for the 2025-2026 school year. Our program operates independently of the North Babylon School District and is under the direction of the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church Board of Directors.

New York State grant funding has allowed us to open twelve (12) spots for the 2025-2026 school year at no cost to North Babylon School District residents. Eligible children must be four years old on or before December 1 of the year in which they are enrolled. If the preschool receives more applications than classroom spots, we will conduct a mandatory lottery to randomly select students. Students who are not selected will be placed on a waitlist and parents will be notified when spots become available.

Eligibility and Participation Requirements for Cross of Christ Lutheran Preschool Program for 2025-2026:
Each child must be four (4) years old by December 1, 2025.
Each child must have been born between December 2, 2020 and December 1, 2021.
Each child must reside within the boundaries of the North Babylon School District.

Cross of Christ Lutheran Preschool Program Details:
A full-day program, five (5) days a week.
Cross of Christ Lutheran Preschool is located at 576 Deer Park Avenue in Babylon.
Students will be placed in the appropriate class.
ONE (1) application per child will be accepted
Applications must be submitted no later than Thursday, March 6th at 4:00 p.m.
Transportation will not be provided.
Students will be selected by lottery on Tuesday, March 11th at 10:00 a.m.
Notification will be sent after the lottery is conducted.
A numerical waitlist is maintained for those children who are not selected.
Should a suitable UPK location become available, families will be notified in the order in which their number was chosen.
Enrollment will occur after the lottery is completed and families are notified.
Residency documentation will be required at the time of enrollment.
