On Feb. 11, 13 North Babylon High School world language and English as a New Language students participated in the Long Island Latino Teachers Association’s annual men’s conference, “Men Leaders Paving Paths for Young Men.” Held at Stony Brook University, it is designed to motivate high school students to graduate and pursue a college degree or program by helping them match their passion with a career path. Successful professionals shared their personal and professional journey in the fields of education, social work, law, politics, arts, journalism, medicine, science, technology, business and sports. North Babylon High School English as a New Language teacher Jeffrey Salinger chaperoned the students and junior Jordan Peck represented North Babylon in a reflective speech at the end of the event. The women's conference is scheduled for March 13.
