Belmont Gets a Special Visit for P.S. I Love You Day

Posted Date: 2/20/25 (5:00 AM)

Ahead of the P.S. I Love You Day celebration, co-founder Brooke DiPalma visited Belmont Elementary School to spread messages of kindness and positivity on Feb. 12. This year’s theme is “A Brighter Tomorrow Begins Today.”

P.S. I Love You Day is now in its 15th year and is recognized by more than 600 schools across the United States. Participants are encouraged to wear purple to remind everyone that they are not alone; they are part of a community. She spoke to students about the importance of being kind and supporting one another.

Over the years, DiPalma said, the movement of kindness has evolved and transformed, with each community making P.S. I Love You Day their own. “You have no idea what a smile or a helping hand can do to change someone’s life,” she said. “So spread kindness like confetti – not just today, but every single day.”

In addition, Belmont Elementary fifth grader Zaara Khan serves as a P.S. I Love You student ambassador. She created 500 purple bracelets and handed them out to the school in celebration of the day.
