‘March’ Into Reading at DeLuca

From March 10-14, William E. DeLuca Elementary School designated a “Bulldog Book Nook” to challenge students and staff to keep the space occupied all day. As part of Pick a Reading Partner, Read Across America and March into Reading month, library media specialist Mrs. Bzdyk moved her special chair to the front lobby and equipped the space with a basket of books for readers to choose from. Each participant signed up for a 15-minute slot of silent reading time and was relieved by the next scheduled reader, so the chair was never left empty.
