North Babylon High School Garden Club, under the leadership of science teacher Gayle Estrada, didn’t let the cold stop them from learning the art of maple syrup production! The students worked hard to tap the maple trees on school property to collect the sap. Then they practiced patience by cooking it down to create the syrup. Their hard work is just the beginning – next year, they plan to bottle and sell their very own maple syrup! Stay tuned for sweet things ahead! 🍁
