North Babylon Hosts Focused Professional Development Day

On Nov. 4, North Babylon School District held a full day of professional development that built upon the priorities introduced prior to the start of the new school year. The sessions emphasized collaboration, innovation and instructional excellence, all aimed at supporting student growth and success.
The day was facilitated by North Babylon administrators, teachers and instructional leaders, with additional expertise provided by several outside consultants. Many departments also attended out-of-district specialty workshops aligned with their content areas.
Throughout the day, educators engaged in collaborative sessions on a range of topics, including inquiry in the classroom, integration of AI in instruction, linguistic demands for ELLs, literacy data analysis, and de-escalation techniques. Teachers across content areas — such as ENL, special education, science and the arts — participated in data-driven planning, curriculum alignment and best practices for supporting diverse learners.
