Two North Babylon Seniors Attend Leadership Institute

North Babylon High School seniors Jairo Cortes and Daniel Carhuallanqui have been selected to represent North Babylon School District at the Angelo Del Toro Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute (PRHYLI). Over the next six months, Hispanic students in seven regional delegations from across New York State will study topics focused on leadership development, civic engagement and democracy. These sessions help students to understand New York State government, the legislative process, parliamentary procedure, public speaking and debating selected assembly bills. Successful candidates will be asked to join the Long Island delegation at the statewide PRHYLI assembly in Albany from April 18-20.
