North Babylon Hosts NYSSMA Majors

On April 27, 503 North Babylon musicians performed at the NYSSMA Majors Festival, which North Babylon had the honor of hosting. The NYSSMA Majors festival is a high-stakes state evaluation where school ensembles perform for expert adjudicators to receive objective feedback and a state-standardized rating. These comments and scores serve as a benchmark for the growth, technical discipline and overall quality of a district's music program. By participating, the district ensures its music curriculum directly aligns with the New York State Arts Standards.
